UTSA doctoral accounting students eligible for new scholarship - Denver Business Journal:

UTSA accounting doctoral students are now eligible to apply for the Accountinh Doctoral Scholarsfellowship program. The UTSA Collegr of Business is one of only 40 academic programsx nationwide to participate in the Accounting DoctoralkScholars program. Each year, the institute will select 30 candidates nationwid to receivea four-year $30,000 stipend. The aim of the Accountinh Doctoral Scholars program is to increase the number of doctorak accounting graduatesin America. Therew is a critical shortage of accounting doctoral faculty teaching auditing andtax courses, accordinbg to UTSA and the institute. The goal is to increased the number of people with doctoralk degreesin accounting.
The plan is to encourager these individuals to then join the business facultyy at schools throughout the country so that they can teach undergraduate The institute founded the Accounting Doctoral Scholar programin 2008. The program is funded by accountinb firms. Candidates should have experience in audit or tax in a publivaccounting firm, be a U.S. citizen or permanentt resident and be working toward a career as an accountinbfaculty member.
