The grant is part of $13.43 million being awarded by the Board of Regents to attract and retain students inSTEMM technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) according to a news release. The schoold will use the grant money to providew scholarships for about 20 students according tothe release. Students who are academi high achievers, but unable to afford four-yeaer colleges, will be considered.
For the next five Cincinnati State will recruit four to five students for each of five programsit offers: business information computer programming and database software engineering, network administration and computef network engineering technology. The college will use the grany money to give eacha $4,700 annual scholarship and use otherd resources to pay each student’s remaining costss – about $800 annually.
Once the student earnz an associate degree, he or she will have the choice of earninva bachelor’s degree in businesss administration with a concentrationb in business analysis by taking Wilmingtonn College courses on the Cincinnati Statre campus, or earning a bachelor’s degree in informatiom technology by taking online courses from the University of Wilmington College will offer discounteds tuition and provide a $4,700 annua l scholarship. Toledo will provide the same amountg of scholarship money but no according tothe release. Cincinnati State offers more than 75 associatw degrees and 40certificate programs.
